Documented, dated, and still moving

What ChatGPT says about my business

I sell AI search optimization. So before I sell it to you, here is what happens when somebody asks ChatGPT to find a business like mine.

I ran the same question twice on the same day, five hours apart, in temporary chats so nothing was personalized to me. I got named both times. I also got a different position and an almost entirely different set of competitors both times.

That second part is the honest bit, and most people selling this will not tell you about it.

The query, both times

Find me the best Reels content creator for my business in Los Angeles.

Run 1August 11, 2026 · 4:56 PM

Named 2nd of 5

ChatGPT described me as Best for high-volume, hands-off Reels

Also named: Skoop Marketing, SA Media Services, Cave Social, inBeat Marketing Agency LA.

1/3The query, in a temporary chat so nothing is personalized to me.

Run 2August 11, 2026 · 11:09 PM

Named 4th of 5, and one of two final picks

ChatGPT described me as Best if you want someone physically filming at your business every week

Also named: Social Era Media, TSMA (The Social Media Agency), inBeat Marketing Agency LA, Elmar Social.

1/4Same query, five hours later. Completely different map.

Five hours apart. Almost nothing the same.

Run 1 put Skoop Marketing first and me second. Run 2 put Social Era Media first and me fourth. Of the four other businesses named in Run 1, exactly one showed up again in Run 2.

The second run also resolved my location to Vernon, which is not where I searched from and not where I am based. Location context alone reshuffles these answers.

There is no fixed ranking here. Nobody is number one in ChatGPT the way you can be number one on Google. Each answer is assembled fresh from whatever sources the model reaches at that moment.

So the goal is not a position. The goal is to be named, described accurately, and cited from a source you control, as often as possible across as many runs as possible. In Run 2 I was fourth in the list and still one of two businesses in the final recommendation. That is the outcome worth chasing.

Running right now

Watch it update in real time

Look closely at the Run 2 screenshot. ChatGPT says I report 800+ reels, 3.5M views and 15+ local clients.

Those numbers are out of date. On August 11 I corrected every figure across the site and every directory listing. The real numbers are 1,000+ reels, 10M+ views, and 50+ local businesses. The deploy went out at 9:29 PM. The screenshot was taken at 11:09 PM, about a hundred minutes later, and the model was still quoting the old set.

That is not a failure. That is the lag, and it is the single most useful thing on this page. It shows the gap between changing something and a model noticing.

I am leaving this here undated and unedited. When those numbers change in a future run, I will add the screenshot next to this one. A prediction published before the outcome is worth more than any claim I could make after it.

What I actually did

No tricks. Every item here is something you can verify on this site right now.

llms.txt
A plain-language file at the root describing who I am, what I do, the industries I serve, and every city I cover. Written for models, not for people.
robots.txt
Explicitly allows GPTBot, ChatGPT-User, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, and Google-Extended. Most sites block these by accident or never think about them.
Structured data
LocalBusiness schema on every page. Service schema on service pages. FAQPage schema everywhere there are questions, so the answers are machine-readable whether or not someone clicks.
Real local pages
Forty-four city pages with actual local detail. Not the same paragraph with the city name swapped.
One set of numbers
The same figures on the site, on Clutch, and on Alignable. When they disagree, models quote whichever one they trust more, and you do not get to pick.
Answers in the HTML
FAQ answers render in the page source instead of appearing only after a click. No major AI crawler except Gemini runs JavaScript.

What I will not promise you

I cannot promise you a position, because positions are not for sale and they are not stable. Anyone telling you they will make you number one in ChatGPT is either confused or counting on you never checking.

I also cannot promise a timeline. The lag between changing something and a model reflecting it is real, and it is not under my control or anyone else’s.

Here is one more thing worth saying out loud. Every business that placed above me in Run 2 has something I do not: review volume. TSMA has 200+ reviews. inBeat has nearly 200. That is not a website problem and no amount of technical work fixes it. Reviews are a real ranking input and I will tell you that on the first call rather than sell around it.

What I can do is make your business the most legible option in your category. Clear structured data, accurate consistent numbers everywhere you appear, real pages for the places you actually serve, and content that answers the questions people are typing. Then we measure it the way I measured mine. Run the query, screenshot it, date it, repeat.

Want to know what ChatGPT says about you?

I will run the queries your customers would actually type, show you exactly what comes back, and tell you straight whether there is anything worth fixing. Free, and no pitch if the answer is no.
